Description
Domaine Gibault’s Touraine Chenonceaux Le Graal 2023 is an expressive Loire Valley white with a beautifully golden colour and an invitingly rich fruit profile. Produced in the heart of the appellation along the banks of the Cher, it combines generous tropical fruit character with the freshness expected from this distinctive Loire terroir.
Tasting Notes
Bright and clear in appearance, the wine shows a golden-yellow hue. Its expressive, complex nose is dominated by ripe fruit aromas of peach, apricot, mango and passion fruit, creating an immediately inviting impression.
On the palate, it is full-bodied yet fresh, balancing its generous fruit character with lively acidity. The 2023 vintage is approachable in its youth and is best enjoyed while its vibrant fruit and freshness are at their most pronounced.
Production
The vineyards cover approximately 18 hectares along the Cher River, in the centre of the Touraine Chenonceaux appellation. The grapes are carefully selected and picked before undergoing a maturation process lasting approximately three to four weeks, allowing the wine to develop its full-bodied texture and expressive aromatic profile.
Food & Serving
Serve this versatile white with seafood, grilled fish, shellfish, poultry or salads featuring fresh fruit and creamy elements. It also works well with mildly spiced Asian dishes and soft goat’s cheese. Serve chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary, although allowing the wine a little time in the glass will help reveal its complex fruit aromas.
Producer
Located in Noyers-sur-Cher, Domaine Gibault is a family estate now led by third-generation winemaker Pascal Gibault, who works alongside his wife, Daniëlle, and his brother, Bernard. With vineyards positioned along the Cher and within the heart of the appellation, the domaine is closely connected to the character of Touraine Chenonceaux and its Loire Valley heritage.
