Domaine Famille Paquet, Pouilly-Fuissé 2023 White

Domaine Famille Paquet’s Pouilly-Fuissé 2023 is an expressive white Burgundy from the heart of the Mâconnais, combining generous fruit with the refined mineral character associated with the appellation. Crafted by three brothers continuing a family winegrowing tradition that began in 1980, it offers an elegant balance of aromatic intensity, richness and freshness.

Tasting Notes
Bright and inviting in the glass, this Pouilly-Fuissé opens with an especially aromatic nose of floral notes, citrus, white peach and apricot. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, with a silky, deep texture supported by appealing mineral freshness. A rich, flavourful finish completes the wine. It is delicious now, but should develop additional depth and complexity over the next 3–6 years when well stored.

Production
Made from Chardonnay in Pouilly-Fuissé, one of the Mâconnais’ most renowned appellations, the wine reflects the region’s combination of fruit-driven richness and mineral character. Famille Paquet works with respect for the terroir and a focus on sustainable, organic and biodynamic viticulture. Following a fully completed malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured for 12 months in oak barrels before spending a further 8 months in stainless-steel tanks, helping to integrate its texture and oak influence while preserving freshness. Specific harvesting methods are not provided.

Food & Serving
A versatile partner for seafood and delicate, flavourful dishes, this Pouilly-Fuissé is particularly well suited to risotto, shellfish, sushi and tender pork such as pork fillet. Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, although 15–20 minutes in a carafe can help reveal its floral aromas and rounded palate, especially when enjoyed young.
