Description

Domaine Faiveley’s Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Ouvertes Rodin 2023 is a rare Burgundy that combines one of the region’s most celebrated Grand Cru vineyards with the precision and pedigree of a top Côte de Nuits producer. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, it reflects both the depth of Chambertin-Clos de Bèze and the finesse that has made Domaine Faiveley one of Burgundy’s most respected names.

Tasting Notes
As a young Grand Cru Burgundy, the 2023 is expected to show a vibrant, ruby-fruited core with remarkable clarity and lift. The nose typically opens with red cherry, raspberry, violet, and subtle spice, followed by deeper notes of forest floor, rose petal, and finely judged oak. On the palate, this style usually delivers a silky yet structured texture, with concentrated red and black berry fruit, fresh acidity, and exceptionally refined tannins. The finish should be long and mineral-driven, with the capacity to develop complex savory and earthy nuances over time. This is a wine built for graceful aging and should reward cellaring for many years.

Production
Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is one of Burgundy’s most historic Grand Cru sites, planted on well-drained limestone and marl soils that lend the wine both power and finesse. The vineyard benefits from an ideal east-facing exposure in the Côte de Nuits, helping Pinot Noir ripen slowly and evenly while preserving freshness and aromatic detail. Domaine Faiveley is known for careful, selective harvesting and meticulous vinification, with an emphasis on preserving purity of fruit and the individuality of the terroir. While specific details for this cuvée are not provided, wines of this level are typically handled with great precision in both fermentation and élevage to build structure, depth, and longevity.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for refined, flavorful dishes such as roast duck, pigeon, venison, beef fillet, or lamb with herbs. It also pairs beautifully with mushroom-based dishes, truffle risotto, and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening in its youth to allow the aromas and structure to fully раскры.

Producer
Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important family estates, founded in 1825 and based in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Over generations, the domaine has built a strong reputation for producing precise, terroir-driven wines from some of the region’s finest vineyard holdings, including numerous Premier Cru and Grand Cru sites. It is widely regarded for combining traditional Burgundian character with the consistency and scale of a leading estate.
