Description
Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru 2012 is a beautifully composed Burgundy that captures the elegance and depth of Pinot Noir from one of Vosne-Romanée’s most admired premier cru sites. With old vines, careful hand harvesting, and Dujac’s signature use of whole clusters, it offers both aromatic complexity and remarkable finesse — a classic expression of the domaine’s refined style.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this 2012 shows a vivid ruby colour with an alluring bouquet of cherry, blackberry, forest floor, and subtle spice. The nose is layered and precise, gradually opening to reveal the mineral nuance and savoury detail that make Vosne-Romanée so distinctive.
On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet graceful, with silk-smooth tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. It already drinks very well now, but the structure and depth suggest it can continue to evolve beautifully for several more years in cellar.
Production
The grapes come from chalk- and clay-rich slopes in Vosne-Romanée, where mature Pinot Noir vines contribute naturally low yields and exceptional concentration. Fruit is harvested by hand and vinified with a significant proportion of whole clusters, adding aromatic lift, texture, and complexity to the final wine. After fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels, including a moderate share of new oak, which adds subtle spice and depth while preserving the finesse of the fruit.
Food & Serving
This Premier Cru pairs wonderfully with dishes such as roast duck, quail, veal, mushroom risotto, or game birds with earthy accompaniments. Serve at around 16–18°C to show its fragrance and texture at their best. Decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended if opening now, especially to allow the bouquet to fully unfold.
