Description
Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru 2010 is a beautifully poised Burgundy that captures both the power and finesse of one of Vosne-Romanée’s most admired premier cru sites. Made from Pinot Noir grown on limestone- and clay-rich slopes, it combines intensity, elegance, and the understated complexity that has made Domaine Dujac such a benchmark producer in Burgundy.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby-red color, hinting at its concentration and maturity. The nose opens with layered aromas of cherry, blackberry, violet, and delicate spice, all framed by a subtle mineral edge that adds lift and precision.
On the palate, it is concentrated yet graceful, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a refined, almost seamless texture. The finish is long and harmonious, with mineral tones and gentle spice lingering after the fruit. Now at a mature and balanced stage, the 2010 vintage has excellent drinking appeal today, though it can still hold gracefully for further development in bottle.
Production
This wine comes from the prestigious Les Beaux Monts vineyard in Vosne-Romanée, where old Pinot Noir vines grow on classic Burgundy soils of limestone and clay. The grapes are harvested by hand to preserve fruit quality, and vinification includes a significant proportion of whole clusters to enhance complexity, structure, and aromatic nuance. After fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels, with a moderate share of new oak adding depth and spice without masking the grape’s natural elegance.
Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for dishes that complement refined, aromatic Pinot Noir, such as roast duck, quail, pheasant, veal, mushroom risotto, or gently seasoned game birds. Serve at around 16–18°C to best express the wine’s perfume and texture, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if opening it now, especially to allow the aromas to fully unfold.
Producer
Domaine Dujac is one of Burgundy’s most respected estates, known for producing wines of precision, perfume, and structure from top vineyards across the Côte de Nuits. Founded in the late 1960s, the domaine quickly established a reputation for its thoughtful approach to Pinot Noir, including the use of whole-cluster fermentation and careful élevage. Today, it is widely regarded as a reference point for elegant, terroir-driven Burgundy, with Vosne-Romanée standing among its most admired expressions.
