Description

Domaine Dujac’s Morey-Saint-Denis 2010 is a beautifully composed expression of Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy’s most respected names. Sourced from old vines on limestone and clay slopes in Morey-Saint-Denis, it combines depth, finesse, and the site-driven character that has made this village such a benchmark for refined red Burgundy.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a clear ruby-red color. The nose is layered and inviting, with aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries, forest floor, and subtle spice notes that add complexity without overpowering the fruit. On the palate, it is elegant yet concentrated, with fine tannins, balanced acidity, and a distinct mineral edge that brings length and harmony. The 2010 vintage is now entering a mature and graceful phase, but it still retains freshness, precision, and plenty of energy. It should continue to age well for a number of years, developing even more savory and earthy nuance.

Production
The grapes come from Domaine Dujac’s parcels on the limestone- and clay-rich slopes of Morey-Saint-Denis, where old Pinot Noir vines contribute depth and complexity. Harvesting is done by hand, and fermentation includes a proportion of whole clusters to preserve purity of fruit and enhance aromatic detail. After fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels, with a measured share of new oak used to provide structure and a gentle spicy lift while keeping the terroir at the forefront.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for dishes that complement Burgundy’s elegance, such as roast duck, pigeon, veal, mushroom risotto, or game birds. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30–60 minutes if opened young or if you want to soften the wine and allow its aromatics to open fully.

Producer
Domaine Dujac was founded in 1967 and has become one of the most admired producers in Burgundy, known for combining traditional craftsmanship with a precise, terroir-focused approach. Based in Morey-Saint-Denis, the domaine has played an important role in defining the style and reputation of the village, and it is especially celebrated for wines that balance aromatic complexity, structure, and remarkable aging potential.
