Description

Domaine Dujac Morey-Saint-Denis 2008 is a beautifully poised Burgundy that captures the maison’s hallmark blend of precision, purity, and understated depth. Sourced from several parcels around the village, it reflects both the character of Morey-Saint-Denis and the pedigree of one of Burgundy’s most respected domaines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby-red color with an elegant, transparent sheen. The nose is classic and inviting, unfolding with red cherries, raspberries, forest floor, and a gentle touch of spice from the oak. On the palate, the wine is linear and refined, with fresh acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a subtle mineral edge that gives the finish lift and persistence. Now beautifully mature after seventeen years, the 2008 vintage is harmonious and expressive, yet still energetic and vibrant, with enough structure to continue developing for a little longer in bottle.

Production
This Morey-Saint-Denis is made from Pinot Noir sourced from multiple parcels around the village, where limestone-rich soils and older vines contribute structure, freshness, and finesse. The grapes are partially de-stemmed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in French oak barrels, including a significant proportion of new oak, which adds quiet complexity without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
Serve this wine with roasted duck, mushroom risotto, game birds, or slow-cooked lamb. It is best enjoyed at around 15–16°C, and while decanting is not essential, a short decant can help open the aromas if the bottle has been resting for some time.

Producer
Domaine Dujac was founded in 1967 and quickly established itself as one of Burgundy’s benchmark producers, known for elegance, transparency, and site expression. Based in Morey-Saint-Denis, the domaine has earned a strong reputation across the region for crafting wines of precision and longevity, with a style that is both traditional and deeply expressive.
