Domaine Duchemin Hautes Côtes de Beaune 2022 is a beautifully drinkable Pinot Noir that captures the charm of Burgundy in a fresh, approachable style. Crafted by winemaker Benjamin Duchemin from hillside vineyards above the Côte de Beaune, it offers excellent value and a classic regional character rooted in one of Burgundy’s most respected appellations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby-red color, setting the stage for a lively and elegant wine. The nose is full of red berries and orchard-like freshness, with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry lifted by subtle hints of pepper and mint. On the palate, this is all about pure red fruit, supple texture, and fine tannins that give the wine a gentle grip and a refreshing finish. It is already very enjoyable now, especially with a slight chill, but it also has the structure to develop nicely over the next 5 to 10 years.

Production
The Hautes Côtes de Beaune vineyards sit higher up on the slopes of the Côte de Beaune, where the cooler exposure helps preserve freshness and aromatic lift in Pinot Noir. For this wine, the grapes are fully destemmed before pressing, then fermented over two weeks in large wooden vats, followed by 14 months of aging in French oak barrels.

Food & Serving
A versatile Burgundy like this works wonderfully with roast chicken, duck, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, or lightly seasoned game. Serve it slightly cool, around 14–16°C, and consider a short decant if opening it young to help the aromatics open up.
