Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark color that hints at its concentration and richness. The nose opens with blackberry, ripe black plum, black tea, black pepper, and lifted notes of fresh rosemary and thyme, before evolving with air toward leather and sandalwood. The palate delivers impressive power balanced by detail and freshness, layering dark fruit with clove, white pepper, and a savory herbal thread that mirrors the aromatics. Built for the long haul, this magnum should continue to improve over the next five years and can hold beautifully for 20 to 25 years or more.

Production
Cuvée Réservée is made from a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape field blend of 13 grape varieties, though it is dominated by roughly 80% Grenache. At Domaine du Pegau, the grapes are vinified in a hands-on, low-intervention style: whole clusters are pressed, fermentation takes place in cement tanks without added yeast, and the wine is then aged for two years in used oak barrels.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for slow-cooked lamb, beef stew, game, roasted duck, or dishes with Provençal herbs and earthy vegetables. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young, especially in magnum format, to let the wine fully open.
