Tasting Notes
In the glass, it offers a bright, polished appearance with the kind of freshness expected from high-quality Chardonnay in Burgundy. The nose opens with ripe yellow fruits, citrus, and white flowers, followed by subtle notes of toasted almonds and a gentle hint of buttery richness. On the palate, the wine is intense yet precise, with lively acidity, a pronounced mineral edge, and a long, clean finish. It has the structure and balance to age gracefully for several more years, especially in magnum, where development tends to be slower and more nuanced.

Production
The grapes come from high-altitude parcels in the Mâconnais, planted on limestone-rich soils that naturally bring freshness, tension, and minerality to the wine. Domaine Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon works biodynamically, with natural fermentation used to preserve the authentic expression of the fruit and terroir. Aging takes place partly in stainless steel and partly in used oak barrels, creating a supple balance between purity, texture, and structure.

This is a versatile white Burgundy that pairs beautifully with fish, shellfish, roast poultry, and refined vegetarian dishes such as risotto or creamy mushroom preparations. Serve chilled, ideally at 10–12°C, and consider brief decanting if the wine is youthful or showing reduction after opening.
