Domaine de Remizières’ Hermitage Cuvée Emilie 2021 is a refined Northern Rhône red from one of France’s most prestigious appellations. Made by a three-generation family estate, it combines generous fruit, a rounded palate and delicate tannins with the depth and spice that develop beautifully with age.

Tasting Notes
The wine presents a deep, expressive colour, with youthful fruit-driven aromas in its early years. Expect notes of ripe dark fruit alongside gradually emerging nuances of spice as the wine matures. On the palate, it is rich and rounded, balancing its concentration with smooth, delicate tannins and a persistent finish. The 2021 vintage is enjoyable in its youth for its fresh fruit character, but it also has the structure to evolve in bottle. With time, the fruit profile will become more complex and savoury, while spicy and mature notes take centre stage.

Production
The wine is produced in the Hermitage appellation of the Northern Rhône by Domaine de Remizières, whose vineyards now cover approximately 30 hectares across several communes. It is traditionally vinified in closed, temperature-controlled tanks before spending 15–18 months ageing in oak demi-muids of 600 litres. Specific harvesting methods are not provided.

Food & Serving
A natural partner for red meats and game, this Hermitage also works particularly well with rich stews, braised dishes and mature hard cheeses. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C. Decanting for approximately 1–2 hours is recommended when drinking the wine young, while older bottles should be handled gently and decanted only if necessary to remove sediment.

Producer
Domaine de Remizières has been run by the Desmeure family for three generations. The estate began with around 4 hectares, and in 1973 Desmeure Alphonse left the Tain-l’Hermitage cooperative, where he had previously delivered half of his production, to focus fully on the domaine. His son Philippe took over in 1977 and guided its continued development. Today, the estate spans around 30 hectares and has earned numerous awards for the quality of its wines.
