Domaine de la Roche Aiguë Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rouge 2022 is an elegant, lighter-styled Burgundy that shows just how refined Pinot Noir can be from the cooler, higher-altitude sites of the Hautes-Côtes. Crafted by winemaker Eric Guillemard from fruit grown in Baubigny and Meloisey, it offers a graceful balance of freshness, finesse, and value, with a nod to the classic Burgundian tradition.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby-red color. The nose is lifted and expressive, with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, forest floor, and a subtle touch of vanilla from the oak. The palate is centered on pure red-fruit character, supported by lively acidity and silky tannins that give the wine a polished, elegant feel. It is best enjoyed within its first five years, while the freshness and vibrancy are at their peak.

Production
This wine is made from Pinot Noir sourced from several high-lying parcels in Baubigny and Meloisey, where the soils are rich in clay, limestone, and minerals—ideal conditions for producing nuanced, aromatic Burgundy. The fruit is harvested and sorted entirely by hand, then matured for 12 months mainly in previously used oak barrels to preserve the wine’s delicate red-fruit profile and maintain freshness.

Food & Serving
Serve this wine lightly chilled at around 15–16°C. It pairs beautifully with roast chicken, duck breast, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, grilled salmon, and dishes with earthy herbs or light cream sauces. Decanting is not necessary, but a short aeration can help the aromas open up if served young.
