Domaine de la Janasse Méditerranée Rosé 2024 is a fresh, elegant rosé in the classic Provençal style, distinguished by its delicate salmon-pink colour and bright citrus character. Made by one of the Rhône Valley’s most respected domaines, it reflects the Sabon family’s long-standing commitment to expressing the diverse terroirs around Courthézon.

Tasting Notes
The wine pours a soft pink with a subtle salmon hue. Its aromatic profile is clean and inviting, offering juicy citrus fruit, delicate orange peel and a gentle mineral note. On the palate, it is light-bodied and refreshing, with lively acidity, a restrained fruit character and a polished, elegant finish. This is a rosé best enjoyed for its youthful freshness rather than extended cellaring. It should be at its most vibrant over the first one to two years after release, although careful storage may allow it to retain its freshness slightly longer.

Production
The wine comes from Domaine de la Janasse’s mosaic of more than 60 individual parcels around Courthézon in the southern Rhône, where varied soils and Mediterranean influences contribute complexity and freshness. Specific grape varieties and harvesting methods are not provided, but the wine is made in a Provençal-inspired style with a focus on purity and drinkability. It is matured in oak barrels for approximately three to four months, helping to round the texture while preserving its fresh citrus profile.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its crisp, clean character makes it an excellent partner for Mediterranean dishes, grilled prawns, seafood salads, ceviche, sushi, summer vegetables and light poultry dishes. No decanting is necessary; simply open shortly before serving, or allow the wine a few minutes in the glass to reveal its citrus and mineral notes.

Producer
Domaine de la Janasse was founded in 1967, when Aimé Sabon took over the family’s vineyards and began producing wine independently rather than supplying grapes to a cooperative. Named after the family farm in Courthézon, the domaine has grown from its original 15 hectares to around 90 hectares. Aimé’s son Christophe joined him in 1991, followed by his daughter Isabelle in 2001. Thanks to its diverse parcels and detailed approach to terroir, Domaine de la Janasse has become one of the leading names of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and a benchmark producer in the southern Rhône.
