Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, intense color, hinting at its concentration and depth. The nose is wonderfully layered, offering ripe red and black fruits, Provençal herbs, crushed pepper, violets, and classic Southern Rhône spice. On the palate, it is lavish and full-bodied, yet impressively fresh and composed. Silky but substantial tannins give it structure and length, while the finish is long, refined, and persistent. This wine has excellent aging potential and should evolve beautifully over the next 30 years with proper cellaring.

Production
This wine comes from Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône Valley, where warm Mediterranean conditions and stony soils help produce ripe, powerful Grenache-led wines with natural concentration. The 2019 XXL is based largely on Grenache, with Syrah and other traditional varieties completing the blend, and only about 30% of the fruit was destemmed. It was aged in demi-muids, a choice that helps preserve freshness while adding texture and complexity.

This is a superb match for rich dishes such as lamb, beef short ribs, game, duck, or Provençal-inspired cuisine with herbs and roasted vegetables. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least an hour if drinking young to allow the wine to fully open.
