Description

Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 2013 is a benchmark expression of one of Burgundy’s most refined appellations, offering the poise, perfume, and precision that define great Chambolle-Musigny. Produced by one of the Côte de Nuits’ most historic and revered domaines, with roots tracing back to 1450, it reflects a long legacy of excellence and a deep connection to terroir.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a graceful, highly aromatic profile with red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, and violet at the forefront, layered with rose petals, spice, and a distinct chalky mineral thread. It is classically Chambolle-Musigny in its perfume and detail—elegant, lifted, and wonderfully nuanced. On the palate, it is silky and precise, with vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and a core of pure red fruit that gradually unfolds into floral and mineral complexities. The finish is long, harmonious, and graceful, suggesting excellent aging potential and the ability to gain further depth and complexity with time in bottle.

Production
This Chambolle-Musigny comes from one of Burgundy’s most iconic estates, where vineyard work and vinification are carried out with the same exacting standards applied to the domaine’s celebrated Grand Cru wines. While detailed vineyard specifics are not provided here, the wine clearly expresses the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny’s limestone-rich soils and the estate’s emphasis on purity, balance, and site expression through careful harvesting and restrained cellar work.

Food & Serving
Best served with dishes that complement Pinot Noir’s elegance, such as roast duck, quail, pheasant, mushroom risotto, or veal with herbs. Serve at 15–17°C, and if possible, decant gently for about 30–45 minutes to allow the aromatics to open without diminishing its delicate structure.

Producer
Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is one of Burgundy’s most storied and respected producers, with a history dating back to 1450. Based in Chambolle-Musigny, the domaine is widely regarded as a reference point for the region, celebrated for wines of exceptional finesse, purity, and longevity, and for its enduring role in defining the style and prestige of the appellation.
