Domaine Chanzy Bourgogne Pinot Noir Les Fortunés 2024 is a beautifully poised Burgundy that offers classic Pinot Noir character at a very approachable price. Sourced from vines on the lower slopes of the famed Clos de la Fortune, it combines elegance, purity, and a sense of place in a wine that already drinks well, yet has the structure to develop further with time.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the kind of light, graceful profile Burgundy lovers look for, with a transparent ruby hue and a delicate brightness. The nose is inviting and expressive, led by cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, with floral hints of rose petals and a subtle earthy note of forest floor. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and finely balanced, with fresh, lively acidity and red fruit at the core. The finish is airy and refined, carrying the berry and woodland tones in a way that feels distinctly Burgundian. It is enjoyable now, but should gain additional complexity over the next few years.

Production
The fruit comes from vines planted on the lower part of Clos de la Fortune, a site known for its near-ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir. Winemaker Max Blondelle ages the wine for 10 months in oak barrels, followed by five months resting in stainless steel to help the wine settle and preserve its freshness. This combination gives the wine both subtle depth and a clean, polished finish.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is a natural match for roast chicken, duck breast, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, and soft cheeses. Serve it slightly cool, around 14–16°C, and consider a short decant if opening it young to let the aromas open up.
