Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2020 Bourgogne Chardonnay shines a pale lemon-gold with silvery highlights, hinting at its freshness and energy. The nose is immediately pure and focused, opening with lemon zest, green apple and white peach, followed by layers of crushed stone, chalk, white flowers and a subtle touch of toasted hazelnut and fresh cream. On the palate, the wine is taut, precise and wonderfully vibrant, with a fine, almost crystalline texture. Citrus and orchard fruits are wrapped around a deep mineral core, supported by racy acidity that gives the wine both backbone and length. Hints of almond, brioche and a light saline note emerge on the finish, which is long, mouthwatering and impeccably clean. While already very appealing in its youth, this 2020 has the structure to evolve gracefully for 5–8 years, gaining additional complexity and suppleness over time.

Production
Domaine Arnaud Ente farms small, meticulously tended parcels around Meursault, including sites classified as Bourgogne but sharing much of the same limestone-rich terroir as more illustrious vineyards. The vines are worked with extreme care—low yields, detailed canopy management and an emphasis on living soils—often following organic and sustainable principles. Grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness to preserve tension and aromatic purity. In the cellar, Ente favors a gentle, minimalist approach: careful pressing, fermentation in oak (with a restrained use of new barrels), followed by aging on fine lees to build texture without heaviness. The result is a Bourgogne Chardonnay of remarkable precision, transparency and depth.

Food & Serving
This Bourgogne Chardonnay is a natural partner for refined, not overly rich dishes: think oysters, scallops, turbot, grilled prawns, or simply prepared white fish with beurre blanc. It also pairs beautifully with roast chicken, veal in a light cream sauce, or delicately flavored vegetable dishes and goat’s cheese. Serve at 10–12°C (50–54°F) to highlight its tension and minerality. A brief 20–30 minutes in the fridge before serving is ideal; decanting is generally not necessary, though opening the bottle 15–20 minutes in advance will allow the wine’s aromatics to unfurl.
