Description

Domaine Allary Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan 2010 is a mature red Bordeaux from one of the region’s most respected appellations, renowned for combining Cabernet-led structure with the elegance of gravelly terroir. The 2010 vintage is widely regarded as an excellent year in Bordeaux, producing wines with impressive concentration, freshness and ageing potential.

Tasting Notes
The wine is expected to show a deep ruby colour with garnet highlights from its years of bottle development. Aromas typically associated with mature Pessac-Léognan include blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, complemented by cedar, tobacco, graphite, earthy notes and subtle spice. On the palate, it should offer a structured yet refined profile, with developed fruit, firm but integrated tannins and a fresh mineral character. Well-cellared examples of the 2010 vintage can continue to evolve, while also offering appealing tertiary complexity today.

Production
Pessac-Léognan lies just south of Bordeaux and is distinguished by its well-drained gravel soils, which encourage deep rooting and favour the production of structured, age-worthy red wines. The precise grape blend, harvesting practices and vinification methods for this cuvée have not been provided; Bordeaux reds from the appellation are generally made from a blend of traditional varieties, with careful extraction and maturation in oak.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C, after allowing the bottle to rest if it has been stored for a long period. Decanting for approximately 30–60 minutes is recommended to open the wine and separate any sediment. Its structure and savoury development make it a natural partner for roast beef, lamb, venison, duck, grilled steak and mature hard cheeses.
