Cortes do Tua Reserva Branco 2022 is an elegant Douro white that shows the finesse of one of Portugal’s most exciting mountain terroirs. Crafted from a thoughtful blend of Viosinho, Rabigato, Códega do Larinho and Gouveio, it combines freshness, mineral tension and a refined touch of French oak in a style that feels both precise and expressive.

Tasting Notes
Pale in the glass with a bright, luminous character, this Reserva Branco offers inviting aromas of apricot, peach and green apple, lifted by a subtle mineral edge. The nose is clean and focused, with the oak remaining beautifully discreet. On the palate it is fresh, structured and elegantly textured, with juicy orchard fruit, a saline mineral line and a fine, well-integrated wood influence that adds shape rather than weight. The finish is balanced and persistent, suggesting good development over the next few years while remaining highly enjoyable now.

Production
The grapes come from the Douro Superior, in Pombal de Ansiães, Carrazeda de Ansiães, on the left bank of the Tua River, where the vineyards benefit from excellent south- and west-facing exposure. The white vineyards are planted at 500 to 700 meters above sea level, helping preserve acidity and aromatic precision in the warm Douro climate. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, and the wine is aged for 8 months in French oak to add subtle complexity and structure.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile food wine, ideal with grilled sea bass, roast chicken, monkfish, cod dishes, creamy risotto or richer shellfish preparations. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C to highlight its freshness and mineral drive, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a short time in the glass will help the aromas open beautifully.

Cortes do Tua is the ambitious project of two young winemakers, Duarte da Costa and Ana de Almeida, who bring together international experience and a deep respect for Douro tradition. Working as organically as possible, they focus on vineyard care and hand harvesting to produce wines of harmony, balance and elegance. Their estate in Douro Superior has quickly become a compelling name in the region, known for clean, expressive wines with a strong sense of place.
