Description

Copinet Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut is a finely crafted non-vintage Champagne made entirely from Chardonnay grown in the heart of France’s Champagne region. By blending three different harvest years, Copinet achieves a beautifully consistent house style that is both approachable and seriously refined. This cuvée embodies the domaine’s long-standing dedication to Chardonnay-driven Champagnes, delivering elegance, precision, and everyday drinkability without ever feeling ordinary.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Blanc de Blancs shows a pale, luminous straw color with delicate green highlights and a fine, persistent mousse. On the nose, it offers lifted aromas of lemon zest, crisp green apple, white flowers, and chalky minerality, with subtle hints of brioche and fresh almond emerging as it opens. The palate is lively and precise, with vibrant acidity giving structure to flavors of citrus, pear, and crunchy apple, layered over a clean, saline backbone typical of Chardonnay from top Champagne terroirs. The texture is refined and creamy without heaviness, leading to a long, refreshing finish marked by mineral notes and a gentle touch of pastry. Enjoyed now, it shows great vibrancy and charm, but it will also develop additional complexity over the next 3–5 years in bottle, gaining more autolytic (brioche and nutty) nuances.

Production
Sourced from selected Chardonnay parcels across the Champagne region, this Blanc de Blancs reflects cool, chalk-rich soils that contribute tension, finesse, and a pronounced mineral character. Grapes are harvested by hand to ensure pristine fruit selection, with careful sorting in the vineyard and at the press. Vinification typically involves gentle pneumatic pressing, a cool temperature fermentation in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatic purity, followed by extended aging on the lees in the bottle to build texture and complexity. By blending three different vintages, Jacques Copinet is able to maintain a remarkably steady house style and quality level from year to year, capturing both consistency and nuance in the finished wine.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is a natural match for oysters, prawns, scallops, and other fresh shellfish, as well as sushi, sashimi, and light seafood crudo. It also pairs beautifully with goat cheese, soft-ripened cheeses like Brie, citrus-dressed salads, and delicate white fish dishes or poultry in light cream sauces. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F) to highlight its freshness and finesse. A brief 10–15 minute rest in the glass or an elegant Champagne carafe will allow the aromas to open, but extended decanting is not necessary—this cuvée is designed to be immediately enjoyable.

Producer
The Copinet family is known in Champagne for its steady, methodical approach to crafting Chardonnay-focused wines with impressive regularity and reliability. Over the years, the estate has built a reputation as a dedicated Blanc de Blancs specialist, emphasizing purity of fruit, clarity of expression, and an honest reflection of the region’s chalky terroirs. By consistently blending multiple vintages for their non-vintage cuvées, Jacques Copinet ensures a recognizable house signature—elegant, precise, and never trivial—which has helped secure the domaine’s standing among discerning Champagne drinkers looking for quality grower-style wines with character and finesse.
