Contini Karmis Cuvee 2025

Contini Karmis Cuvée is a quietly distinctive white from Sardinia, blending Vermentino with Vernaccia di Oristano for a wine that balances freshness, texture, and regional character. It reflects one of the island’s most enduring wine traditions, crafted by Contini, Sardinia’s first and oldest winery.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, deep straw-yellow colour with a luminous sheen. The nose is intense and persistent, offering a graceful mix of fruity and floral notes. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, with a well-balanced interplay between flavour and aroma. The finish is savoury, lingering, and pleasantly persistent, with enough structure to suggest it will hold its charm well over the next few years.

Production
The grapes come from a unique Sardinian setting that gives the wine its regional identity and sense of place. Vinification is carried out without skin contact, with gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. The wine then matures in stainless steel or glass-lined concrete tanks on the lees, with periodic batonnage, followed by a short period of bottle ageing.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent partner for Mediterranean seafood, grilled fish, shellfish, and lighter pasta dishes, as well as soft cheeses and vegetable-based antipasti. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.
