In the glass, Pernice Pinot Nero 2020 shows a luminous, medium ruby color with delicate garnet reflections toward the rim. The vineyards benefit from hilly exposures, well-draining calcareous-clay soils, and a temperate microclimate influenced by the nearby Apennines, allowing for slow, even ripening. Grapes are typically harvested by hand to ensure careful selection of perfectly ripe clusters, preserving the delicacy that Pinot Nero demands. In the cellar, vinification focuses on gentle extraction and precision—cool macerations, controlled fermentations, and aging in carefully chosen wood (often a mix of barriques and larger oak) to add texture and complexity without overwhelming the grape’s natural elegance. The result is a wine that clearly communicates its origin and the finesse of its variety.
