Conte di Campiano’s Primitivo di Manduria Riserva 2022 is a rich, characterful red that shows why Primitivo from Manduria is so highly regarded in southern Italy. Made from 100% hand-harvested Primitivo and aged for 12 months in oak, it combines power, warmth, and elegance in a style rooted in one of Puglia’s most iconic wine regions.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red color with impressive depth. The nose is layered and complex, offering notes of cocoa, coffee, and vanilla, supported by ripe fruit and subtle spicy oak tones. On the palate, it is full-bodied, soft, and generous, with a rich texture and a well-balanced structure. Fine tannins give it shape, while the oak ageing adds polish and complexity. It should drink beautifully now, but also has the structure to develop further over the next few years.

Production
This wine comes from Manduria in Puglia, an area known for producing some of the finest Primitivo in Italy thanks to its warm climate and mature vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure only the best fruit is selected, then fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperature to preserve freshness and purity. The wine is then matured for 12 months in wooden barrels, which adds depth, spice, and roundness to the final blend.

Food & Serving
A natural match for red meats, game, and flavorful starters, this Riserva also pairs well with grilled dishes, braised meats, and richly seasoned cuisine. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting it for 30–60 minutes before serving to allow its aromas and texture to open fully.
