Produced exclusively from white grape varieties and bottled at a slightly lower pressure than other Franciacorta wines, Satèn is prized for its silky texture, delicate mousse and long bottle maturation. The 2021 vintage combines freshness with the subtle complexity gained from extended lees ageing.

Tasting Notes
The wine appears clear and pale straw-yellow in the glass, with a fine, graceful stream of bubbles. Its nose is fresh and elegant, revealing notes of hawthorn, bread crust, apple, balsamic nuances and dried fig. On the palate, it is soft and rounded, balanced by pleasant freshness and a refined mousse. The finish is long, gently savoury and layered, with the wine’s extended time on the lees adding depth. It is ready to enjoy now, but should develop additional toast and pastry notes over the next few years when stored properly.

Production
The wine undergoes fermentation for approximately 20 days in stainless-steel tanks, followed by partial malolactic fermentation to enhance its smoothness and balance. Its first maturation lasts seven months in a combination of stainless-steel tanks and barriques. The second fermentation and subsequent ageing take place in bottle, where the wine rests on its lees for approximately 30 to 36 months.
