Contadi Castaldi Franciacorta NV is a refined Italian sparkling wine from Lombardy’s prestigious Franciacorta appellation, where traditional-method wines are celebrated for their elegance and complexity. Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright, inviting appearance with lively effervescence. Its aromatic profile brings together wild berries, delicate rose petals, crisp apple and hints of tropical fruit. On the palate, it is structured and energetic, balancing fresh fruit with a rounded, creamy texture from its time on the lees. The finish is long, harmonious and refreshing. This Franciacorta is enjoyable now for its freshness and expressive fruit, while its extended lees ageing gives it the balance and depth to develop further in bottle over the next few years when stored in suitable conditions.

Production
The grapes undergo a cool maceration at approximately 17–18°C for around three to four hours, followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel over approximately 20 days, with partial malolactic fermentation contributing texture and balance. The wine is first matured for seven months in a combination of stainless-steel tanks and barriques, before spending a further 24–30 months on its lees, developing greater complexity and finesse.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its lively structure and refined fruit make it a versatile partner for aperitifs, seafood, sushi, shellfish, delicate charcuterie and lightly spiced dishes. It also works beautifully with fresh pasta, creamy risotto and soft, mild cheeses. Decanting is not necessary; serve directly from a properly chilled bottle, allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass to open.

Contadi Castaldi is based in Franciacorta, one of Italy’s leading sparkling-wine regions. The estate’s story began when Vittorio Moretti acquired an old brickworks, partly inspired by his wife Mariella’s childhood memories of the site. The historic factory was transformed into an impressive 7,000-square-metre winery, combining industrial heritage with modern wine production. Today, Contadi Castaldi is associated with a forward-thinking approach, careful craftsmanship and the pursuit of high-quality Franciacorta.
