Contadi Castaldi Franciacorta Brut is an elegant Italian sparkling wine from Lombardy’s renowned Franciacorta appellation, combining freshness with a rounded, refined character. Produced by a winery celebrated for both craftsmanship and innovation, it is a versatile, polished choice for aperitifs, celebrations and food pairing.

Tasting Notes
Bright yellow in colour with delicate green reflections, this Franciacorta opens with a fresh, lifted aroma profile. Floral notes mingle with lime, citrus fruit, white peach and a subtle hint of green pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet refreshing, with a fine, refined texture and a persistent finish. Its time resting on the lees contributes added complexity and balance. It is ready to enjoy now and should be at its best in the near term, while careful cellaring may allow the flavours to develop further.

Production
The wine is made in Franciacorta and undergoes fermentation for around 20 days in stainless-steel tanks, followed by partial malolactic fermentation. It then matures for seven months in a combination of stainless-steel tanks and barriques. After this initial maturation, the wine rests on its lees for approximately 20–26 months, building texture and depth before release. As a Franciacorta, it is produced according to the region’s traditional bottle-fermentation method.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 6–8°C. Its freshness and generous palate make it an excellent match for seafood, shellfish, sushi, fresh cheeses, delicate pasta dishes and light antipasti. It is also an elegant aperitif. Decanting is not recommended; serve directly from a properly chilled bottle, and use a tulip-shaped sparkling-wine glass to preserve both the aromas and the bubbles.

Contadi Castaldi is based in Franciacorta and has established a reputation for quality, innovation and meticulous sparkling-wine production. The winery was created through the transformation of a former brick factory, purchased by Vittorio Moretti partly because of his wife Mariella’s childhood memories of the site. The extensive renovation turned the historic industrial building into a striking 7,000-square-metre winery, linking the area’s past with a modern approach to winemaking.
