Contadi Castaldi Franciacorta Brut is a refined non-vintage sparkling wine from Lombardy’s celebrated Franciacorta appellation, combining vibrant freshness with an elegant, creamy texture. Produced by one of the region’s most innovative estates, it reflects the area’s dedication to high-quality sparkling wines made with extended lees ageing and meticulous cellar work.

Tasting Notes
The wine is bright yellow with delicate green reflections. Its fresh, expressive nose reveals floral nuances alongside lime, citrus fruit, white peach and a subtle hint of green pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet refreshing, with a polished texture, fine balance and a persistent, refined finish. The extended maturation on the lees contributes additional depth and roundness. It is enjoyable now, while careful short- to medium-term cellaring may allow further integration and complexity.

Production
The grapes are sourced from the Franciacorta area, known for its rolling hills and favourable conditions for producing fresh, elegant sparkling wines. Fermentation takes place over approximately 20 days in stainless-steel tanks, followed by partial malolactic fermentation. The first maturation lasts seven months in a combination of stainless-steel tanks and barriques, after which the wine spends a further 20 to 26 months ageing on its lees, developing added texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its freshness and rounded palate make it a versatile partner for aperitifs, seafood, shellfish, sushi, lightly seasoned fish, fresh cheeses and delicate poultry dishes. Decanting is not recommended; serve directly from a properly chilled bottle, allowing the wine to open gradually in the glass.

Producer
Contadi Castaldi is a respected Franciacorta producer renowned for combining craftsmanship with a modern, innovative approach to winemaking. The estate was created through the transformation of a former brickworks, acquired by Vittorio Moretti partly because of his wife Mariella’s childhood memories of the site. The extensive renovation resulted in a striking 7,000-square-metre winery, now central to the estate’s identity and its contribution to the reputation of Franciacorta.
