Tasting Notes
As a young Saint-Julien, the wine is expected to show a deep ruby color with youthful violet highlights. On the nose, look for ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, and subtle floral notes, with a touch of spice and graphite typical of Bordeaux’s Left Bank. The palate should be medium- to full-bodied, with polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of black fruit balanced by savory earthy nuances and a refined mineral edge. While approachable in youth, the large-format bottle gives it strong aging potential, allowing the wine to gain complexity and softness over many years.

Production
Produced in Saint-Julien within Bordeaux’s famed Left Bank, Connétable Talbot benefits from gravelly soils that promote excellent drainage and help Cabernet Sauvignon-based blends ripen evenly. The 2023 vintage would have been harvested with careful selection to preserve freshness and aromatic purity, then vinified with the goal of expressing the Talbot style in a more accessible, early-drinking form.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, entrecôte, duck breast, beef tenderloin, or mushroom-based dishes. Serve at 16–18°C, and if opened young, decant for about 1 hour to allow the aromas and structure to open up; the double magnum format will also reward patience in cellar aging.
