Col d'Orcia’s Nearco 2019 is a polished Tuscan red that brings together the power of international grape varieties with the finesse and freshness for which Montalcino is so admired. Tasting Notes
In the glass, Nearco 2019 shows a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. The nose is intense and complex, opening with ripe black berries, cassis and plum, then unfolding into cedar, tobacco, Mediterranean herbs, cocoa, vanilla and a subtle balsamic note. The palate is powerful and concentrated, yet beautifully balanced. Dark fruit, black cherry, mocha, spice and a delicate woody nuance are carried by ripe, silky tannins and vibrant freshness, giving the wine both elegance and length. The finish is long, refined and persistent, with dark fruit, spice and a faint mineral streak. It can be enjoyed now, but has the structure to develop further complexity over many years.

Produced in the hills around Montalcino, where the vineyards benefit from Tuscany’s warm days, cooling influences and well-drained soils, Nearco is crafted to express both ripeness and elegance. The wine blends international varieties with a distinctly Tuscan sensibility, and the vinification is aimed at preserving concentration, harmony and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
Excellent with game, grilled beef, lamb and truffle-based dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if drinking now, especially to allow the wine’s layers of fruit, spice and oak to open fully.
