Claude Riffault’s Sancerre Mosaïque Calcaire 2024 is a refined white wine shaped by the limestone-rich soils of the Sancerre area. Made from Sauvignon Blanc, it reflects the estate’s parcel-based approach, with fruit sourced from vineyards north of Sancerre and an emphasis on preserving the natural balance between vine, soil and vintage.

Production
Claude Riffault farms 13.5 hectares in total, including 10.5 hectares planted with Sauvignon Blanc and 3 hectares with Pinot Noir. The vineyards are spread across six parcels north of Sancerre—Les Boucauds, Les Chasseignes, Les Denisottes, Les Chailloux, Les Desmalets and La Noue—where limestone soils play a central role in the wine’s mineral expression. The estate places particular importance on vineyard work and on adapting its approach to the prevailing climatic conditions, although specific harvesting and vinification details for the 2024 cuvée are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its bright acidity and mineral profile should pair beautifully with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, goat cheese—especially Crottin de Chavignol—and fresh salads with citrus-based dressings.
