Tasting Notes
In the glass, 2022 Clarence Haut-Brion typically shows a deep, youthful ruby color with excellent clarity. The nose is refined and layered, with notes of dark berries, plum, graphite, cedar, and subtle spice, supported by the elegant smoky, earthy character that is often associated with the Haut-Brion style. On the palate, it is smooth and composed, combining ripe black fruit with polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a fine mineral edge. The finish is long and harmonious, with enough structure to reward cellaring while remaining accessible earlier than the grand vin. It should develop beautifully over the next 8–15 years, depending on storage.

Produced in Pessac-Léognan, Clarence Haut-Brion comes from the gravel-rich soils and well-drained terroir that give the estate its distinctive elegance and complexity. This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, mushroom-based dishes, and rich poultry preparations. It is best served at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opening young, to allow the aromas and tannins to fully open.
