Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby color with the concentration you’d expect from a well-structured Médoc. The nose opens with blackberries, cassis, spice, a touch of pencil shavings, and dried flowers, all lifted by a fresh, refined edge. On the palate, the wine is balanced and focused, combining ripe dark fruit with firm tannins, lively freshness, and a satisfying sense of depth. It feels both approachable now and built to evolve gracefully over the next few years, gaining more complexity with bottle age.

Production
The vineyards around Château Tour Saint Martin are divided into individual parcels, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot planted where they can best express the estate’s terroir. After the vines were replanted following the 1957 frost, the property was gradually revitalized, and under Frédéric Cruchon’s direction the vineyards and cellar were modernized to bring out the full quality of the land and the mature vines. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, adding structure, spice, and subtle toast without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
This Médoc pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled beef, duck breast, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if drinking young to help the wine खुल up and soften the tannins.

Producer
Château Tour Saint Martin has a compelling history marked by loss, replanting, and renewal. After the vines were destroyed by spring frost in 1957, Jean Taudin replanted the estate, though the fruit was sold to the Cave Saint Roch project instead of bottled under the château’s own name. His grandson, Frédéric Cruchon, took over in 2005 and transformed the property through significant vineyard and cellar investment, helping establish the château as a serious Médoc producer with strong regional credibility.
