Château Tour Saint Christophe, Saint Émilion 2022

Château Tour Saint Christophe 2022 is a distinguished Saint-Émilion red from a beautifully terraced vineyard on the appellation’s limestone plateau. Combining the generous, velvety character of Merlot with the lift and structure of Cabernet Franc, it offers a polished expression of one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated Right Bank terroirs.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-purple in appearance, the wine opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries and plums, complemented by violet, subtle spice and a delicate mineral note. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet balanced, with concentrated dark-fruit flavours, finely grained tannins and a refreshing line of acidity. Hints of cocoa and toasted oak add complexity to the long, persistent finish. The 2022 vintage’s warmth contributes to its richness and ripe fruit profile, while the wine’s natural freshness and firm structure provide excellent balance. It can be enjoyed from around 2026, but should develop further complexity over the next 10–15 years under suitable cellaring conditions.

Production
The estate’s vineyards are planted on steep, terraced slopes of limestone and clay, a terroir that promotes both concentration and freshness. Grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected before parcel-by-parcel vinification, allowing the character of each plot to be preserved. Fermentation takes place under controlled conditions, followed by maturation in French oak, which lends texture and spice while allowing the fruit and mineral character to remain at the forefront.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C after allowing the bottle to come gradually to serving temperature. Decanting for approximately one hour is recommended when opening the wine young, both to soften its tannins and to release its aromatic depth. It pairs especially well with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck, venison and richly flavoured mushroom dishes, as well as mature hard cheeses.
