Château Tour Saint Christophe, Saint Émilion 2020

Château Tour Saint Christophe 2020 is a refined Saint-Émilion red from one of the appellation’s most striking hillside estates. Known for its dramatic limestone terraces and meticulous modern winemaking, the château produces wines that combine the richness of Merlot with the freshness and structure of classic Right Bank Bordeaux.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-purple in appearance, the 2020 vintage opens with expressive aromas of ripe black plum, blackberry and black cherry, complemented by floral notes, liquorice, graphite and discreet spice. On the palate, it is generous and concentrated, with velvety tannins, balanced freshness and a long, polished finish marked by dark fruit and mineral nuances. This is an approachable vintage with the structure to develop further in bottle. It can be enjoyed now after decanting, while cellaring for approximately 8–12 years should allow additional complexity and softness to emerge.

Production
The estate’s vineyards are planted on the distinctive limestone and clay soils of Saint-Émilion, including steep, traditionally terraced slopes that provide excellent drainage and natural freshness. Grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand before gentle fermentation and maceration in temperature-controlled vats. The wine is then matured in oak, allowing the fruit, tannins and mineral character of the terroir to integrate harmoniously.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C after decanting for around 30–60 minutes, particularly when drinking the wine in its youth. Its full, polished style pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck, venison and hearty mushroom dishes, as well as mature hard cheeses.

Château Tour Saint Christophe is located in the eastern part of Saint-Émilion and is recognised for its spectacular vineyard terraces, which date back centuries. Since its acquisition by Peter Kwok in 2012, the estate has undergone significant investment in both the vineyards and winery, while preserving the character of its historic landscape. Its combination of traditional terroir, careful vineyard work and contemporary precision has earned it a strong reputation among the region’s modern-generation estates.
