Château Tour Saint Christophe, Saint Émilion 2019

Château Tour Saint Christophe 2019 is a polished Saint-Émilion red from one of Bordeaux’s most striking hillside estates. Built around steep, hand-worked terraces and limestone-rich soils, the wine combines the generous, silky character of Merlot with the structure and aromatic lift of Cabernet Franc—a particularly appealing expression of the warm, successful 2019 vintage.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby to garnet in colour, it opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries and plums, complemented by violet, cedar, graphite and subtle spice. The palate is supple and concentrated, offering layers of black fruit, cocoa and liquorice, supported by well-integrated tannins and a fresh mineral finish. Already approachable with decanting, this Saint-Émilion has the balance and structure to develop further in bottle. It should drink beautifully over the next 8–15 years, with careful cellaring allowing its fruit, floral notes and earthy complexity to become more harmonious.

Production
The estate’s vineyards are planted on the dramatic limestone slopes and terraces characteristic of Saint-Émilion, with clay and limestone soils that provide both richness and freshness. Grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected before fermentation in temperature-controlled vessels, followed by maturation in oak to add texture and complexity while preserving the wine’s vibrant fruit and mineral character.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C after allowing the bottle to come gently to temperature. A decant of 30–60 minutes will help reveal the wine’s aromas and soften its youthful structure. It is a natural partner for roast lamb, beef tenderloin, grilled entrecôte, duck, mushroom dishes and mature hard cheeses.
