Château Tour Saint Christophe, Saint Émilion 2017

Château Tour Saint Christophe 2017 is a refined Saint-Émilion red from a striking hillside estate whose vineyards are arranged on historic limestone terraces. Combining the generous, velvety character of Merlot with the aromatic lift and structure of Cabernet Franc, it offers an elegant expression of Bordeaux from a classic, elegant vintage.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-red in appearance, the wine opens with inviting aromas of ripe blackberry, plum and black cherry, complemented by violet, subtle spice and delicate mineral notes. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, with smooth tannins, balanced freshness and a polished texture. Dark berry fruit carries through to a long finish marked by gentle oak and stony nuances. It is drinking well now with decanting, while careful cellaring should allow it to develop further through approximately 2030–2035.

The estate’s vineyards are planted on steep, south-facing terraces composed largely of limestone and clay, a terroir that combines warmth and drainage with the freshness needed for balanced, age-worthy wines. Château Tour Saint Christophe is primarily associated with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with grapes harvested selectively and vinified parcel by parcel to preserve the character of the individual terraces. The wine is matured in oak, allowing its fruit, structure and mineral detail to integrate harmoniously.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C. A brief decant of 30–60 minutes will help open the wine and soften its youthful structure, although older bottles may benefit from gentler handling. Its polished style pairs particularly well with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck, veal, mushroom dishes and mature hard cheeses.
