Made exclusively from fruit grown on the estate’s best parcels, it offers the structure, depth, and polish expected from one of the region’s most respected names.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this 2021 Médoc typically shows a deep, dark ruby colour with youthful brilliance. The nose leans toward blackcurrant, ripe black cherry, cedar, and a touch of vanilla from oak ageing, with subtle hints of graphite and spice adding complexity. On the palate, it is classically Médoc in style: firm yet refined, with a Cabernet-driven backbone, ripe tannins, and a balanced freshness that keeps the wine focused. The oak ageing, including a high proportion of new barrels, adds roundness and a smooth, layered finish. It has the structure to develop further in bottle over the next several years, gaining more nuance and softness with time.

Production
Château Tour Prignac is one of the largest wine estates in the Médoc, and the Grande Réserve comes from the vineyard’s warmest, most beautiful slopes, where the grapes reach optimal ripeness. Following the estate’s restructuring, Cabernet Sauvignon was planted in the most favourable sites, giving the wine its distinctive Médoc identity. The wine is aged in oak barrels, with 80% new oak contributing complexity, texture, and the signature hint of vanilla.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, duck breast, and classic Bordeaux-style dishes such as beef short rib or mushroom tart. It also works well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour if drinking young to allow the aromas and tannins to खुल up fully.

Château Tour Prignac has long been a significant estate in the Médoc, both for its scale and its commitment to producing wines in a classic Bordeaux style. Yannick Gay has overseen the daily operations since 1979, bringing decades of experience to the property. Since 2008, he has been supported in winemaking by Eric Boissenot, one of Bordeaux’s most highly regarded consultants, whose expertise is also sought by names such as Château Latour, Château Margaux, and Château Lafite-Rothschild.
