Château Tertre de Viaud, Côtes de Bourg 2022

Château Tertre de Viaud 2022 is a polished and approachable Bordeaux red from the Côtes de Bourg appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, it combines generous ripe fruit with a refined structure, offering an excellent introduction to classic Bordeaux character at an attractive price. The wine has received a Vivino rating of 4.3 as of 3 September.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep ruby-red colour. On the nose, ripe cherries, plums and blackcurrants are complemented by subtle spice and a gentle hint of vanilla. The palate is soft and rounded, with supple tannins, balanced structure and a lingering, elegant finish. Its fruit-forward style makes the 2022 vintage enjoyable now, while its structure should allow it to develop gracefully over the next few years when properly stored.

Serve lightly cool at around 16–18°C. Château Tertre de Viaud pairs naturally with grilled or roasted red meat, beef stews, slow-cooked dishes and mature cheeses. It can be enjoyed immediately, although a short decant of around 30 minutes may help open its aromas and soften the wine further.
