Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby in colour, the wine opens with fragrant aromas of ripe red berries, potpourri and lifted floral nuances, complemented by subtle allspice and mineral notes. On the palate, juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavours are precise and energetic, with a touch of white pepper adding definition. Hints of Asian spice emerge on the focused finish, supported by silky, even tannins and refreshing acidity. Already expressive and graceful, the wine should continue to develop complexity in bottle for many years when properly cellared.

Production
Made predominantly from Grenache, Château Rayas is distinguished by its sandy, well-drained soils and a naturally sheltered vineyard environment, which help produce wines of perfume and delicacy. The fruit is handled with a traditional, low-intervention approach, allowing the character of the site and vintage to shine through during fermentation and maturation. The 2013 is marked by freshness, mineral definition and finely textured tannins.

Food & Serving
Its elegant structure makes it a versatile partner for roast or grilled poultry, duck, veal, lamb and delicate game. It also works beautifully with mushroom dishes, Provençal vegetables and mildly spiced cuisine. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C. Decant carefully for approximately 30–60 minutes, or serve directly from the bottle if the wine is showing particularly well; older bottles should be handled gently to preserve their delicate aromas.
