Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2022 is a distinguished Pauillac red wine from one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated estates. Classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification, it combines the power and structure typical of Pauillac with an elegant, refined character that has long been the château’s signature.

Tasting Notes
The 2022 vintage displays a deep garnet colour with vivid purple reflections. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum are layered with violet, graphite, cedar and subtle spice. On the palate, it is concentrated yet polished, with ripe tannins, refreshing acidity and a long, mineral finish. The wine’s depth and structure suggest excellent ageing potential, with the ability to develop gracefully over two decades or more under suitable cellar conditions.

Production
The vineyards lie on the gravelly soils of Pauillac, where excellent drainage and the ability of the stones to retain heat help Cabernet Sauvignon achieve full ripeness. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted before fermentation, allowing the individual parcels and varieties to be vinified separately. The wine is then matured in French oak, where it gains additional complexity while preserving the freshness and precise fruit character of the vintage.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C after allowing the wine to breathe. Decanting for around two hours is recommended when enjoying it young, while older bottles may benefit from gentle decanting to remove any sediment. Its structure and richness make it an excellent partner for roast lamb, beef fillet, venison, duck, grilled ribeye and mature hard cheeses.

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is one of Pauillac’s historic estates and has held its Second Growth status since 1855. The property became particularly renowned under the stewardship of May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, whose work strengthened its reputation for producing wines that balance power with elegance. Today, the château remains one of the Médoc’s benchmark producers, admired for its consistently refined, age-worthy wines.
