Description

Chateau Musar Red 1967 'ex Chateau 2022' is a rare library release from one of Lebanon’s most iconic estates, offering a unique glimpse into the depth and longevity of this historic wine. Drawn from the estate’s cellars and released decades after harvest, it combines provenance, patience, and unmistakable character in a bottle that speaks to collectors and serious wine lovers alike.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red core with mature garnet reflections, a sign of its age and careful evolution. The bouquet is layered and complex, unfolding with notes of ripe dark fruit, warm spice, tobacco, leather, and subtle earthy nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet graceful, with a refined structure and silky tannins that still carry the wine with ease. The finish is long and lingering, marked by savory complexity and a quiet elegance that reflects the best of mature Chateau Musar. While already beautifully developed, it still has the balance and concentration to continue aging for years to come.

Production
Produced in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, Chateau Musar benefits from a high-altitude terroir with hot, dry summers and cool nights that help preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. The grapes for this vintage were selected from the estate’s finest parcels and matured extensively in the Chateau Musar cellars before release, allowing the wine to develop its signature complexity and depth. As a long-aged wine from a legendary vintage, it reflects traditional vinification and patient cellar management rather than a rushed, modern style.

Food & Serving
This wine is best enjoyed with rich dishes such as roasted red meat, game, braised lamb, and mature cheeses, where its depth and structure can really shine. Serve at 18–20°C, and if possible, decant gently before serving to allow the aromatics to open fully after years in bottle.

Producer
Chateau Musar, founded in 1930, is Lebanon’s most celebrated winery and a benchmark producer of age-worthy wines from the Bekaa Valley. Led for generations by the Hochar family, the estate gained international acclaim for its resilience and its distinctive, Bordeaux-inspired yet unmistakably Lebanese style. Its old vintages are highly prized by collectors, and Chateau Musar remains one of the most respected names in the world of fine wine.
