The wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan, and is aged for at least 30 months in oak barrels, a process that contributes to its depth, texture, and ability to mature gracefully over decades.

This wine is a natural match for game dishes, roasted beef, and well-aged cheeses, where its savory complexity and firm structure can shine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about an hour if the bottle is showing youthful tension or sediment; for a fully mature vintage like 1980, a gentle decant may also help reveal its aromas more clearly.
