Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows the hallmark Margaux perfume: blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum layered with violets, cedar, graphite, cigar box, and subtle spice. With age, it gains further nuance, unfolding truffle, forest floor, leather, and a touch of dark chocolate. The palate is concentrated yet refined, with pristine fruit, finely woven tannins, and a vibrant freshness that keeps the wine beautifully balanced. The finish is long and complex, leaving mineral, dark-fruited, and floral impressions. Drinking beautifully now, it still has the structure to evolve for many more years.

Production
The 2006 blend is dominated by an unusually high 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, resulting in remarkable aromatic precision and a deep, structured core. As with the great wines of Margaux, the emphasis is on expressing the estate’s gravelly terroir and delivering elegance over brute force, with careful vinification designed to preserve purity, balance, and age-worthiness.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for fine cuts of beef, lamb, duck breast, venison, or dishes featuring mushrooms and truffles. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if enjoying now to help the wine open fully and show its aromatic detail.
