Les C des Carmes is the approachable second wine of Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion, offering the estate’s refined Pessac-Léognan character in a youthful and accessible style. The 2022 vintage combines ripe fruit, freshness and polished structure, reflecting the château’s distinctive position within the historic Graves appellation.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-purple in colour, the wine opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries and plums, complemented by subtle violet, cocoa and gently spicy notes. On the palate, it is smooth and generously fruited, with supple tannins, balanced freshness and a refined, persistent finish. The 2022 is enjoyable in its youth, while its structure and acidity should allow it to develop additional savoury and earthy nuances over the medium term. It is best approached from approximately 2025, with further drinking pleasure expected over the following several years.

Produced in Pessac-Léognan from carefully selected fruit associated with the Château Les Carmes de Haut-Brion estate, Les C benefits from the gravelly, sandy and clay-influenced soils characteristic of the area. The wine is vinified with a focus on preserving vibrant fruit and the estate’s elegant, fresh style, followed by maturation designed to integrate its tannins and oak influence.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C after allowing the bottle to breathe briefly. A short decant of around 30–60 minutes can help reveal the wine’s aromatic depth, particularly when enjoyed young. It pairs naturally with roast lamb, grilled or braised beef, duck, mushroom dishes, hearty vegetable preparations and mature cheeses.
