Château de Rochemorin Pessac-Léognan 2020 is a refined Bordeaux red from an estate perched on one of the highest points of the appellation in Martillac. Combining elegant red and black fruit with a subtle toasted character, it offers the polish and balance that make Pessac-Léognan so compelling. The château also has a notable historical connection with the philosopher Montesquieu.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep dark-red colour with pronounced carmine reflections. Its expressive bouquet reveals refined layers of red and black fruit, complemented by delicate toasted nuances and hints of vanilla. Soft and welcoming on the palate, it shows a pleasant natural sweetness, fine tension and a rounded texture. The fruit is precise and polished, with red-fruit flavours returning from the nose and carrying through to a satisfying, lingering finish. Its balance and structure suggest that it can be enjoyed now, while developing added complexity over the next several years with careful cellaring.

Production
Château de Rochemorin benefits from a diverse collection of terroirs and soil types on the elevated slopes of Martillac in Pessac-Léognan. The grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks equipped with a patented system for breaking up the cap during fermentation, helping to achieve gentle and effective extraction. The wine is then matured for 12 months in oak barrels, 30–40% of which are new, adding discreet toasted and vanilla notes while preserving the wine’s refined fruit character.

Food & Serving
This elegant Bordeaux red is a natural match for rabbit with mustard, roasted quail and duck confit. It also works beautifully with other richly flavoured poultry and gently seasoned game dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is not essential when serving the wine young, but 30–60 minutes in a decanter can help open its aromas and further soften the palate.
