Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep ruby-red colour. On the nose, ripe red and black fruits are complemented by a subtle touch of spice. The palate is juicy, refined and well balanced, with fresh acidity, smooth tannins and a pleasingly elegant finish. Its supple texture makes it enjoyable in its youth, while the fruit, acidity and gently structured palate should allow it to develop added complexity over the next several years when properly stored.

Production
Château Calon-Ségur lies north of Saint-Estèphe, directly beside the Gironde estuary, where gravel-rich soils contribute freshness, drainage and structure. The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, and the wine is partly matured in French oak to support its finesse and shape without overshadowing the fruit.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C with grilled red meat, rack of lamb or poultry served with a spiced sauce. It also pairs beautifully with refined bistro dishes, such as steak with pepper sauce, roasted vegetables or hearty mushroom preparations. Decanting is not essential when serving the wine young, although 30–45 minutes of aeration can help open its aromas and soften the palate further.
