Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-red in appearance, the wine opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, complemented by subtle violet, cedar and spice. The palate is refined and balanced, with concentrated dark-fruit flavours, fresh acidity and polished tannins. A savoury, mineral character typical of Saint-Estèphe adds depth to the finish. Although enjoyable in its youth after some aeration, the 2022 Le Marquis de Calon-Ségur should develop further complexity over the next 8–12 years when properly stored.

Production
The vineyards of Saint-Estèphe are influenced by gravelly and clay-rich soils, which help provide both drainage and the structure for which the appellation is known. The wine is produced from selected fruit grown on the Calon-Ségur estate, with careful vinification designed to preserve freshness, fruit definition and the château’s characteristic firmness.
