Château Beaumont, Haut-Médoc 2022

Château Beaumont 2022 is a classic Haut-Médoc red from Bordeaux’s celebrated Left Bank, combining Cabernet Sauvignon-driven structure with the generous fruit of Merlot. Classified as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, it offers an appealing balance of polish, freshness and traditional Médoc character, making it enjoyable young while also suitable for medium-term cellaring.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour, the wine opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, accompanied by subtle notes of cedar, tobacco and gentle spice. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, with ripe dark fruit, well-integrated tannins and a refreshing line of acidity. The finish is savoury and persistent, with hints of graphite and oak. It can be enjoyed now after some aeration, but should develop additional complexity over the next 8–12 years.

Production
The vineyards of Château Beaumont lie in the Haut-Médoc, where gravelly soils provide excellent drainage and help retain heat, creating ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and other traditional Bordeaux varieties. The 2022 vintage was shaped by a warm, dry growing season, encouraging ripe, concentrated fruit. Grapes are carefully selected and vinified by variety before being blended and matured in oak, allowing the wine to gain structure and subtle aromatic complexity while preserving its freshness.

Food & Serving
A natural partner for grilled or roasted beef, lamb, duck and venison, Château Beaumont also pairs well with mushroom dishes, lentils and mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, preferably after opening for 30–60 minutes. Decanting is recommended for the best expression when drinking the wine young; older bottles should be decanted carefully to separate any sediment.
