Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour, the 2021 vintage opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, accompanied by subtle notes of cedar, tobacco and gentle spice. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, with fresh acidity, refined tannins and a pleasingly savoury finish. The vintage’s freshness gives the wine an energetic profile, while further bottle ageing should allow its fruit, oak and earthy nuances to develop greater harmony. It can be enjoyed now with some aeration and should mature gracefully over the next several years.

Production
The vineyards of Château Beaumont lie on the gravelly soils typical of the Haut-Médoc, which provide excellent drainage and encourage the vines to produce concentrated, structured fruit. The estate’s wines are traditionally based on Bordeaux varieties, led by Cabernet Sauvignon and supported by Merlot and smaller proportions of other permitted grapes. Grapes are carefully selected at harvest, then vinified with controlled fermentation and maceration before maturation in oak, creating a balance between ripe fruit, tannin and the château’s characteristic Médoc freshness.

Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Château Beaumont 2021 pairs naturally with roast beef, lamb, grilled entrecôte, duck, mushroom dishes and mature hard cheeses. Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended when drinking it young, particularly alongside a substantial meal; older bottles should be poured carefully to preserve their maturity and freshness.
