Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-purple in appearance, the wine opens with expressive aromas of ripe blackberries, blueberries and black cherries, layered with pepper, spice and subtle savoury notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with concentrated dark-fruit flavours, warming spice and a broad, velvety mouthfeel supported by balanced structure. The extended time on the skins contributes depth and texture, while the absence of post-malolactic ageing helps preserve the wine’s freshness and energy. It is enjoyable now for its rich, generous style, but should develop further complexity over the next few years when properly stored.

Production
Made from Syrah grown in Washington State, Boom Boom reflects the region’s ability to produce ripe, intensely flavoured red wines with freshness and structure. Charles Smith’s red wines undergo a long maceration on the skins, followed by extended time on the lees without stretching after malolactic fermentation. This approach is designed to enhance texture and mouthfeel; specific vineyard sites and harvesting methods are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C, ideally after allowing the bottle some time to open. Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended, particularly when serving the wine young. Its full-bodied profile pairs well with grilled or slow-cooked beef, lamb, barbecue dishes, peppered sausages, mushroom-based recipes and richly spiced roasted vegetables.
